If you know me at all you'll know I LOVE carving jack-o-lanterns. This was my third attempt at a tri-layer carving and I think it turned out quite well. Took about seven hours to create (45 minutes of that time was simply setting up the design). I use wood carving blades and do everything by hand, no power tools involved.
Disclaimer: The character depicted is Roark "Rocky" Rickaby from my absolute all-time favorite webcomic Lackadaisy Cats [link] belonging to the one and only Tracy Butler. I've been following her comic for years and highly recommend it.
Also, for anyone wondering about the odd cropping of this photo and that patch of light at the top... I used a very bright lamp to light the jack-o-lantern and planned to crop it out before posting this deviation, but then I noticed the glare at the top looks like a burning barn! Ohoho, I just HAD to leave it in! Rocky is such a lovable arsonist!
You were a few months too ahead of the game though I'm afraid
Yeah I'll probably stick with Lackadaisy. I'm not really a fan of any others
The only ones I've ever actually read were Knite and Lackadaisy, I don't know where to read the others, lol.
